2017-18 PTO POSITIONS

 WHEN: BOARD POSITIONS:
All Year PRESIDENT  – Oversees all PTO engagements and helps with many of the PTO engagements and committees
All Year VICE PRESIDENT/PRESIDENT ELECT – Incoming for next school year, learns the ropes and helps with many of the PTO engagements and committees.
All Year FUNDRAISING CHAIRS – Responsible for helping with Invest In Your Child & Green Marathon, PRM’s main fundraisers
All Year RECORDING SECRETARY – Records notes and logs them for PTO records and helps with PTO engagements and committees
All Year COMMUNICATIONS – Tech-savvy person who can make website updates in WordPress and compile and send eBulletins each week (training available)
All Year TREASURER / CO-TREASURER – Keeps the books, organizes the annual budget, writes checks and makes deposits  and helps with PTO engagements and committees
All Year SOCIAL  – Oversees all PTO social events engagements, among them picnics, breakfasts, spirit nights and teacher appreciation.

FUNDRAISING POSITIONS
Spring ART BY ME – Coordinate children’s art to create gift items (through an outside vendor)
Fall BOOK FAIR – Organize and promote our library fundraiser (through an outside vendor)
Spring MONTESSORI MARATHON – Organize and promote a day of running fun in the Spring (fundraising team will support / help you)
Fall INVEST IN YOUR CHILD – Organize and promote our Fall campaign of giving for classroom materials (fundraising team will support / help you)
All Year MERCHANDISE / SPIRIT WEAR – Select, plan, coordinate and deliver spirit wear item sales (through an outside vendor)
All Year MONTESSORI MORNINGS – Negotiate class offerings, coordinate registration and communicate with families regarding fun class offerings for children at 8 AM weekdays (staff supported each AM)
All Year SMALL FUNDRAISERS – Collect, organize and submit all box tops contributed to school (collection basket in hall near the office) – 2-3x per school year submittal
Winter-Spring YEARBOOK – Communicate with families, collect photos and coordinate with outside vendor to create yearbook. Promote sales of yearbook.
SOCIAL POSITIONS
Fall BACK-TO-SCHOOL PICNIC – Plan an early evening picnic on school grounds, including coordinating vendors and activities
Fall PARENT BREAKFAST BASH – Plan a morning breakfast for the parents of our students on the first Friday of school at PRM in the Media Center (1 morning event)
All Year PRM CARES – Our school’s philanthropic outreach program to the community / world
All Year SPIRIT NIGHTS – Plan various evening mini-events around town with restaurants and play places that offer community and some funds that go back our school
Spring INTERNATIONAL SPRING FAMILY PICNIC – Plan an early evening picnic on school grounds, including coordinating vendors and activities (may be tied in with International Festival moving forward)
Spring BOOK SWAP – Organize and promote our annual book swap
SUPPORT / COMMUNICATIONS POSITIONS
All Year MARQUEE – Edit content, select photos and layout a 4+ page editorial-style newsletter (3x per year)
All Year BULLETIN BOARDS – Creative team of two or more who keep our bulletin boards up-to-date with information and attractive
All Year NEWSLETTER – Edit content, select photos and layout a 4+ page editorial-style newsletter (3x per year)
All Year STAFF APPRECIATION & HOSPITALITY – Plan and organize special goodies each month to thank our teachers and staff for all that they do (varies each month, other board members will team to help)
All Year MONTESSORI DADS – Group of Dads that plans to have Dad volunteers to help with event set-up and take-down for each event – Each Dad to commit to helping with at least two events per year
MEMBERSHIP PAYMENT NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE Did you know, that as a parent or guardian with a student attending PRM, you are already a PTO member (and so are all our teachers and staff!)?!?! Our goal is to have 100% of our membership as voting members. To be a voting member, it is only $5/family and proceeds help fund the many PTO-sponsored school activities. (Note: a $0.45 service fee is applied.)

Get Involved with PTO!Haven’t tossed your name in the hat? If a PTO Executive Officer position is not your thing, no worries, we have many committees in need of a chairperson and committee members. Consider volunteering in one these areas: Fundraising, Communications, and Social/Community. Tell us what area interests you and we’ll find a spot for you!

To get an idea of the different types of fund-raising, social/community, and communication sub-committees we offer, please see the current listing! As a volunteer body, we are always open to new ideas if you don’t see a committee that is of interest and fills a need!
